Key Stage 1 Puppet Experience
Thu 31 Jan 2019We have started the day with the whole school experiencing a puppet show, with professional performers. This morning Year 2 will be working with professional puppets, and making their own puppets in a workshop; and this afternoon it will be the turn of Year 1.

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Day
Thu 31 Jan 2019A big thank you to Year 6 for selling doughnuts on the play ground yesterday. We think we have a world record - 180 doughnuts sold out in 1 minute! Well done to Mr Arnold, our Finance Manager, who managed to eat five. -
Puppet mastery for Key Stage 1
Thu 31 Jan 2019On 31st January, Years 1 and 2 will be mastering the art of puppet making and having the opportunity to play and work with professional puppets. There will be a puppet show for the whole school, and then 2 hour workshops for Years 1 and 2, where they will make their own puppet and develop the language and creative skills to use in their writing. Krispy Kreme Doughnut Day
Wed 30 Jan 2019To raise money for our school minibus, Year 6 will be selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts on the school playground after school. A huge 'thank you' to Krispy Kreme Bluewater for your support in this.
The doughnuts will cost £1 for a single glazed doughnut, and £8.50 for a dozen (which can be ordered in advance).

Writing in Year 6
Mon 28 Jan 2019After our author visit on Friday, Year 6 have been completing their own masterpiece. Today the learning objective was to use the correct features of a fantasy piece of writing, and the children worked in silence they were so engaged! Well done Year 6, a great example of how you have matured and developed your skills!

Let's Celebrate!
Fri 25 Jan 2019Today, in our celebration assembly, we congratulated all of the children who raised money for the school minibus fund in our sponsored spell. This group of children raised well over £700 between them, and we are very grateful for all of this hard work (and the hard work of parents who helped!)
There are one or two photos missing, but we will aim to publish those we have permission for as soon as possible.

Author, Billy Bob Buttons visits St Mary's
Thu 24 Jan 2019Today we had the pleasure of meeting author Billy Bob Buttons, who has a wide range of books published, one of which is presently being made into a film! He will be signing books for St Mary's pupils after school. Our favourite questions were "who was your inspiration" and "what other authors do you admire".

Minibus Fund update!

Sponsored Spell (or Sound) update!
Tue 22 Jan 2019A big thank you to all of our brilliant pupils and families, who collectively managed to raise £729.90 in our Sponsored Spell. All of the children took part, and we are very proud of them! -
Author Visits St Mary's!
Tue 22 Jan 2019Author Billy Bob Buttons will visit St Mary's and take workshops with KS2 around writing styles, being an author and creative techniques. He will be with us all morning, and sharing details of his most recent book, which is being made into a film!
