Wilson Class Year 4

Year 4 Roman Workshop

On Monday 4th November the year 4 class are going to take part in a Roman workshop. This will take place in school and will be led by an expert on all things Roman! The children will spend the day learning about different aspects of Roman life and will be taking part in games, quizzes and drama. They will have opportunities to hold replica artefacts linked to the Roman times. The workshop will enable the children to learn about this important part of history in a hands on and engaging way, making this a memorable experience for them. Their workshop leader will add to the excitement of the day by being in full Roman dress, as will myself and Miss Leadbeater. The children are encouraged to dress up for the day too and I will be sending some ideas home with them to help you create their Roman outfit. This will be a fantastic end to the term for Year 4 and I am sure they will have lots to tell you at the end of the day. We will also be publishing pictures of them taking part in the activities on this page.

If you have any questions about this, please come and see me on the playground at the end of the day.

We are looking for volunteers to help with reading this term.

We would love some parent volunteers to hear readers for an afternoon or morning each week until Easter. No experience necessary and everyone welcome.

Please have a chat with Mrs Kennedy or your class teacher, if interested.

Wilson Class!

Welcome to your class page, Year 4. I hope you've all had a fantastic summer break and are ready for an exciting year ahead! We are looking forward to seeing you all.

We will return to school on Wednesday 4th September 2024. Our start time will be 8:45am and school will end at 3:20pm each day. Remember that maths club takes place every morning. If you do not attend this, but would like to, please come and see me.

We have Swimming every Monday afternoon from September until Christmas, so you will need to bring your swimming kit (including a swimming hat), a towel and a healthy snack and drink to school each week on this day. Our first swimming session is on Monday 9th September and we will arrive back at school by 3:30pm.

Please check our daily timetable below to see the lessons you will be studying each week and look at the medium term plans to see the exciting topics we will be learning about this term. Reading books and reading diaries need to be in school every day and you will need to read at least four times each week. Homework is given out on Fridays and returned the following Thursday. I will run homework club on Tuesday lunchtimes, if you would like to attend.

 See you all soon!
