Wilson Class Year 4

We are looking for volunteers to help with reading this term.

We would love some parent volunteers to hear readers for an afternoon or morning each week . No experience necessary and everyone welcome.

Please have a chat with myself or Mrs Kennedy, if interested.

Wilson Class!

Welcome to your class page, Year 4. I hope you've all had a fantastic summer break and are ready for an exciting year ahead! We are looking forward to seeing you all.

Our start time will be 8:45am and school will end at 3:20pm each day. Remember that maths club takes place every morning. If you do not attend this, but would like to, please come and see me.

We have PE every Thursday afternoon from January until Easter, so you will need to bring your trainers to school each week on this day. In addition, you will need your trainers on Tuesdays for your lessons with the tennis coach.

Please check our daily timetable below to see the lessons you will be studying each week and look at the medium term plans to see the exciting topics we will be learning about this term. Reading books and reading diaries need to be in school every day and you will need to read at least four times each week. Homework is given out on Fridays and returned the following Thursday. I will run homework club on Wednesday lunchtimes, if you would like to attend.

We have made some fantastic clay models of animals to link in with our story Mouse Bird Snake Wolf-an exciting tale of three children who decide to start adding creatures to their mysterious world.

Year 4 Roman Workshop

On Monday 4th November the year 4 class took part in a Roman workshop. The children spent  the day learning about different aspects of Roman life and took part in games, quizzes and drama. They had the opportunity to hold replica artefacts linked to the Roman times. The workshop enabled the children to learn about this important part of history in a hands on and engaging way, making this a memorable experience for them. Their workshop leader added to the excitement of the day by being in full Roman dress, as were myself and Miss Leadbeater. The children were encouraged to dress up for the day too and and looked amazing in their costumes!

See link below photos for videos.

Readers' Theatre-as part of our learning in The Wild Robot, the children created group performances of parts of the text. Visit the 'Video Resource Centre' to watch our performances.
