At St Mary's we have established an Eco- Council. This is a group of children who are passionate about the environment and champion sustainability, thinking of ways to make greener choices for our school. Two representatives are chosen from each year group from Year 2 onwards. Meetings are facilitated by an adult co-ordinator and we discuss ways to improve biodiversity, tackle recycling and keeping our school tidy by carrying out regular litter picks. This year, our Eco-Council members have been brilliant at recycling our paper on a Friday afternoon. They have also helped with the preparation of the allotment in anticipation of our Allotment Competition and were responsible for choosing the best planter with the help of one our Governors. Well done Eco Warriors!
