Worship

Our pupils attend collective worship every day, which is planned, interactive and enjoyable. We follow the new Rochester Diocese format for worship, and welcome pupils, staff, governors and parents to join us in this celebration.

These are the comments our pupils make about worship at St Mary's:

"I like that we always start with prayer"

"She leaves us with something to think about".

"I like that we are using our school values"

"I like that we speak about God and the Bible"

"I like that she makes a list of what we said"

"Lots of hands are up"

Art Project

We have discussed our values and community as a Church school. With this aim, we looked for a parable which represented our ethos and culture as a school. The pupils from the School Leadership Group chose the Parable of the Good Samaritan. They felt that this represented our school values and aims - that we are inclusive, accepting, welcoming, and will pick someone up if they fall down. The work on this piece of art work has now been completed with local artist Sue Salter.

The medium used is paint on fabric, and the panels are displayed in the school hall for us all to enjoy. The pupils have chosen to include the school values of honesty, thankfulness, resilience, love and respect in the pieces made; and the end panel includes a prayer chosen by the pupils.
