St Mary's Nursery - 3 and 4 Year Olds

Our Nursery is open from 8:30am until 11:30am (morning session) and 12:30pm until 3:30pm (afternoon session). We are open during term time throughout the year. All children over the age of three are entitled to free 15 hours a week of Nursery education. At St Mary's we offer this as five morning or afternoon sessions every week. If you choose a morning session, then your child will continue with mornings only. As of January 2022, we began offering 30 hours of Nursery, which some parents will receive as a free entitlement and some parents are able to pay for.

Our fees policy explains in detail how fees are calculated, and all children are entitled to 15 hours of nursery education. Some parents are eligible for the 30-hour entitlement, and if not, you are able to pay for up to an additional 20 hours of nursery education charged at £5.50 per hour for 3- and 4-year olds. For more information on free 30-hour offer follow the link here.

What do we offer that is different to other settings?

Our Nursery has a qualified and experienced Nursery teacher, who organises the day to allow for maximum challenge and opportunity. Our children learn French, visit the theatre; whilst learning about 2D and 3D shapes, writing and learning to read. Our phonics lessons are progressive and challenging; and our outside classroom teaches the pupils about the environment and social awareness. Reading and a love of books is a priority for us, and we are a Power of Reading school.
