St Mary's CE Primary School Nursery

St Mary's Nursery 2 Year Olds

Our 2 Year Old classroom is now open! This is for a morning session (8.30am until 11.30am), or an afternoon session (12.30pm until 3.30pm). We are able to offer this as a flexible agreement, where places are available. There will be only 12 pupils in each session when we are fully open, which we believe will enable pupils to make the most of the educational opportunities we offer.

What do we offer that is different to other settings?

Our Early Years unit is purpose built, and opened as a new building in January 2022. We have  experienced staff who work as part of a team with our 3 and 4 year old class. We offer a high level of continued training for our staff, as we believe that this ensures that our pupils receive the best educational experience possible.

Fees can be found in our policy below, and for this class are charged at £18 per three hour session. This equates to £90 per week. Parents who are eligible for Free for 2 funding are not charged for sessions. You can find out about this funding and apply here

We are open during term time throughout the year. All children over the age of three are entitled to free 15 hours a week of Nursery education. If you choose a morning session, then your child will continue with mornings only (at the moment we are unable to offer flexible hours). From January 2022, we will be offering 30 hours of Nursery, which some parents will receive as a free entitlement and some parents are able to pay for. Please call the school office for additional hours.

Our fees policy explains in detail how fees are calculated, and all children are entitled to 15 hours of nursery education. Some parents are eligible for the 30 hour entitlement, and if not, you are able to pay for up to an additional 20 hours of nursery education charged at £5.50 her hour for 3 and 4 year olds. What do we offer that is different to other settings?

Our Nursery has a qualified and experienced Nursery teacher, who organises the day to allow for maximum challenge and opportunity. Our children learn French, visit the theatre; whilst learning about 2D and 3D shapes, writing and learning to read. Our phonics lessons are progressive and challenging; and our outside classroom teaches the pupils about the environment and social awareness. Reading and a love of books is a priority for us, and we are a Power of Reading school.
