Welcome to Dahl Class!

You can use this page of the website to find out about Year 2's weekly timetable, what topics we will be studying during the current term and throughout the year and find out what each week's homework is.

Homework is due in on a Friday. Reading books will be changed on a Wednesday and a Friday when possible, but please ensure that your child brings their reading book in to school every day. Friday will also be PE days so please ensure that your child's trainers or plimsolls are in school, their hair is tied up and if possible earrings are removed.

We will also add details of the fun activities we have been taking part in.

This year we are going to be Secret Agents in Training. To become qualified we will need to complete tricky tasks and a few tests at the end of the year to show what Superstars we can be! We are all looking forward to the challenge and we hope you will all support us on our journey to become Secret Agents.

We hope the children will have a fantastic year with us in Year 2.

If you have any questions please do come and find us.

Miss Orpin and Mr White.

This is your homework for the week. If you need any of the sheets again please come and ask!

This term we have been very lucky that Year 5 have been coming down to help us with our reading! We are very grateful for all of the help that they are giving us.

Mindfulness breathing

We have been learning to use our breathing to help us control our emotions. We learnt that if we are feeling anxious or upset we can do some Bee Breaths to calm ourselves down. You have to breathe in and then breathe out making the sound of a Humming Bee.

This term we are readinf Lila and the Secret of Rain by David Conway and Jude Daly. We had great fun acting out the different emotions that Lila would be feeling throughtout the story.

We had great fun using water colour paints to create a safari sunset.

In Geography we have been learning about Kenya. We tried to draw a map of Kenya just from memory. Look how close we were!

In Science we have been learning about Living, Dead and Never Been Alive things. We went on a walk around our local habitat (the school field) to see what we could find.

This week we have been programming Beebots to get them to different places on a UK map.

This week we completed our Sunset Safari pictures. We cut out safari animals from black paper and stuck them across our paintings.
